CHARITY HELLER HOGGE

 

    CHARITY HELLER HOGGE is a professional editor and writer, working with publishers, authors, and non-industry companies across the country since 1999. She received her BA in English from Montana State University and owns The Mighty Pen, LLC, a manuscript editing company. She co-founded the Portland, Oregon-based publisher, Subatomic Books, and is the lead editor for Breakneck Books publishing.

    Charity teaches an editing class at Portland Community College and is a member of the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, Women in Portland Publishing, Willamette Writers, and the Oregon Writers Colony. She is a volunteer editor at the Willamette Writers conference every year since 2005, has volunteered for S.M.A.R.T. (Start Making A Reader Today), and is a panelist at conferences around the state. She is an active member of the writing community in Portland, where she lives with her two young children.

    In her spare time, she enjoys breathing, eating, and sleeping. And snowboarding.
